The Center For Inner Alchemy’s founder, Ms. Renee Seff, is a Licensed Psychotherapist in New York and New Jersey, in private practice since 2009. In 2018, her curiosity of trauma-informed therapies and holistic approaches led Renee to begin focusing heavily on her post-grad education.
Renee studied EMDR at the Laurell Parnell Institute, and completed her certification in EMDR (EMDRIA). She continues to study with some of the greatest names in the field, including Cathy Steele, Robin Shapiro, Dolores Mosqueara, Laurel Parnell, and Philip Manfield. She also completed her certification in Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and uses this modality to enhance therapeutic sessions.
Ms. Seff educated herself on IFS through PESI IFS Circle and individual supervision. She applies it in her practice regularly and believes in the approach whole-heartedly. She is slated to complete Level 1 training with IFSI in Jan 2026. Inspired by her IFS trainings with Frank Anderson and Richard Schwartz, Renee studied to deepen her understanding of somatic therapy through the trainings and literature of Stephen Porges (Polyvagal Theory) and Bessel Van Derk Kolk.
For clients who are open to energy work, Renee completed Level 2 Reiki training, and is currently working on obtaining her title as Reiki Master (anticipated completion April 2026). She is also trained by Brian Weiss (Many Lives, Many Masters) and has studied the writings of Dolores Cannon and Caroline Myss, allowing her to offer a spiritual approach and Past Life Regression hypnosis. Renee has been an Approved Clinical Supervisor since 2012 and an EMDRIA CIT (Consultant In Training) since 2023. Through providing supervision to provisionally licensed clinicals, Renee recognized that she longed to educate others on the powerful capabilities of somatic and egostate therapy. In 2023, what started off as a bunch of random thoughts on her iPhone notepad evolved into Renee’s first 3 hour training, The Power Of Somatic Therapy. In 2024, she wrote and presented Egostate Basics, Meeting The Narcissist, and A Look At Countertransference.
In her downtime, Renee enjoys spending time with her son and their German Shepherd. She also enjoys travel, using trainings and conferences as an opportunity to explore new places and improve her own personal growth.
